The International Sustainability Star Award 2024, presented by Guerrilla Verde in collaboration with IKEA and the Alucro Association, has announced the winners in the two competition categories.
Circular Economy Category (supported by IKEA)
From over 10 entries submitted, the winners are:
Best Circular Economy Feature (€500 prize)

Community Environmental Spotlight (€250 prize)

Aluminum Sustainability and Recycling Category (supported by Alucro Association)
Three entries were submitted, with the following winner:
Best Sustainability Feature (€300 prize)
“Reciclarea dozelor de aluminiu: Beneficii și impact asupra mediului”
Author: Florin Grozea, Environmental Engineering student, Technical University of Cluj-Napoca.
Open to sustainability enthusiasts—students, journalists, and activists—the competition sought to award the best works in various formats, including essays, videos, articles, interviews, and creative projects, in both Romanian and English.
The competition is part of the Sustainability News Lab initiative, a platform dedicated to fostering informed dialogue and actions for a sustainable future. Through education, mentorship, and competitions, the platform transforms knowledge into action and amplifies voices committed to building a sustainable world.
